Fortis IBA manufacturers hundreds of thousands of tonnes of sustainable aggregates for the construction industry each year from the UK’s energy-from-waste process. Fortistone® IBA Aggregate products are more sustainable and can save significant amounts of CO2 for the construction industry, removing the need to quarry primary materials. The Fortis business is currently looking to appoint a Lead Generation Administrator to provide sales and marketing support in building a pipeline of leads for the expansion of Fortistone® IBA aggregate across the South of England in the construction sector. As a Lead Generation Administrator, your primary duty will be to identify potential construction developments, conduct research into their respective development pipelines, identify the appropriate contacts and work with the sales and marketing departments.  If you are passionate about identifying new business opportunities and undertaking research, this is the perfect opportunity for you.  You will play a crucial role in expanding our customer base and promoting the Fortistone® brand. Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for seeking out, finding, and developing new business leads via a construction lead database (Barbour ABI) and other platforms.
  • Effectively communicating product offerings to potential customers.
  • Sending prospective emails and helping develop, manage and implement contact lists.
  • Following up on requests for information from clients and the sales team.
  • Responding to enquiries that come in via email, phone or the website.
  • Researching various geographical areas and potential customers, working alongside sales and marketing.
  • Corresponding with the Hydrogeology department on potential projects.
  • Supporting Marketing and Sales team on an as needed basis, leading sales initiatives and market research.
  Candidate Requirements:
  • Ability to work independently and meet or exceed targets.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Effective communication skills, dealing with clients and professionals at all levels.
  • Ability to plan and organise.
  • Efficient use of Microsoft software.
  • Some knowledge of the UK Construction Industry - not essential.

In addition to operating plant, the successful applicant will be required to complete daily checks and ensure that vehicles, plant and equipment are secure at all times. You will also be expected to complete daily paperwork in line with company policy and take all necessary precautions for the safety of people, vehicles and plant in line with health and safety legislation.   Requirements:

Fortis IBA (South East) are looking to appoint a Multi Role Plant Operator to assist and support in the safe, efficient and effective operations at our new state of the art Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) Processing Facility based at Ridham (Kent). This role will be flexible, it will involve covering a range of different machinery and duties to ensure the smooth and effective running of the site. Duties may change on a day by day basis to ensure business requirements are met. Site working hours will be: • 07.00-17.00 - Monday to Friday (to include 1 hour unpaid lunch break) • 07.00-13.00 - Saturdays You may also have to work Bank Holidays if required. Key Responsibilities: • Ensure that machines are in good, safe working order via visual and operational checks. • Safe and efficient stockpiling of materials on-site. • Have an ability to plan workload to minimise disruption to operations and help to achieve targets. • Maintaining standard operating procedures as required. • Use of two-way radios to ensure high levels of communication. • Comply with all HSQE policies and procedures. • Weighbridge operation cover. • The above list is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of this post. We are seeking to appoint a Site Operative to support our processing facility based in Calvert, Buckinghamshire. The processing plant processes approx. 75,000t of Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) per year from the co-located Greatmoor Energy from Waste Facility, into quarry restoration material and recycled metals. The primary role of the Site Operative is to operate and carry out various duties and activities involved with the IBA Processing facility in Calvert. The successful applicant will be required to:
  • Pick and segregate materials from the picking line as required
  • Carry out general housekeeping and site maintenance duties around the site as instructed
  • Follow defined procedures and safe systems of work for all activities on site
  • Support all operational activities on site as instructed by management including picking, housekeeping and general duties

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental (HSQE) department for a Health & Safety Advisor in our Quarries and IBA divisions. The position will monitor and advise on the company’s Health & Safety activities ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation, uphold the company’s HSQE accreditations, whilst promoting and supporting continuous improvement and best practice across our sites in the South of England. The role will primarily be maintaining a strong health & safety culture within our Quarry Products company, managing 3 sites across the South of England, but will give additional support to our other companies with compliance and auditing. Key Responsibilities:
  •  To ensure that the Company is proactive, up to date and complies with Health & Safety legislation, procedures and company policies.
  • To carry out internal audits of the H&S management system, and undertake site inspections.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses. Then subsequently, assist in effectively implementing recommendations and improvements to address root causes.
  • Promote a positive health & safety culture and provide competent and practicable assistance to personnel.
  • Provide reports (including monthly KPIs) and data on Health and Safety performance for the HSQE Manager.
  • Support maintenance of and improve the ISO 45001 certification.
Key Skills and Attributes:
  • Experience in a similar role and ideally industry (quarries and/or IBA).
  • Previous experience of conducting internal audits.
  • Previous experience of accreditation (ISO) audits.
  • Hold a Health & Safety qualification – NEBOSH General or equivalent.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient on a variety of computer systems including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong problem solving skills.
  • Familiarisation with quality management systems would be an advantage.
  • Clean driving licence.
